1. Give this heart-stopping debut thriller book The Silent Patient by Alex Michaelides a read as it delivers an unimaginable and amazing twist.

Promising reviews:“After a very long time I’ve read such a thrilling book.. the story is very direct and captures you in every word. Not a word is wasted as the author wrote the story in simple but captivating words and does not wanders with subplots that usually happens when you read a psychological thriller. While reading I observed that all the pages and words are directed and focused on telling me the story of the protagonist. And every word has a meaning in this book. So do not skim through pages. I loved it. I wish all the psychological thrillers were like this.
Looking forward to the next book by this author.”:-AKANSHA
2. A Man Called Ove by Fredrik Backman is a feel good and an heart warming book of love and grief that you can’t complete with out tears.

Promising reviews: “This was such a sweet book. My eyes were wet with hot tears every now and then while I was reading this book. I loved it so much. I cried a lot over a book after a pretty long time. I had some minor issues with some portions like that of “bent person” which the author refers to rather than Ove, and I was a little bored in the beginning with Ove being too judgemental, but I would choose to ignore all such fallacies because the ending was beautiful and I cried and cried until I found the drops of tears smearing three to four pages in one go. This was an unexpected read.”:- Singh, R.

5. This book Baby Teeth by Zoje Stage give you a totally engaging and unnerving read.

Promising reviews: “My goodness what a horror. The events that unfurl as a mother battles with her emotions trying to understand her daughter or your husband looks on in the traumatic events that unfold becomes more and more Claire child is on stable, and ending that reminds me very much of an old-fashioned horror.
A great read I would recommend to anyone who likes to be scared.”:-Jennifer Brown
6. Hercule Poirot’s Christmas by Agatha Christie is one of the greatest murder stories with meticulously constructed plots.

Promising reviews: “This is a classical work of detective fiction by the most famous name in detective fiction since Arthur Conan Doyle (Sherlock Holmes author). Brilliantly plotted and very well written and reasonably priced on Kindle store. Definitely well worth a read.”:-Radhey
7. The Handmaid’s Tale by Margaret Atwood is a unique and brilliant masterpiece in dystopia.

Promising reviews: “What an incredible book. Somewhat unbelievable in some ways, but very much believable as it could happen, in the worst scenario ever (look at what’s happening today). It could be reality, it could be women’s worst nightmare. I haven’t seen the TV programme, only read the original book, so no idea how the writer’s have progressed this story for TV. It left a mark on me, it opens your mind as to how women have been treated over time and how we are considered a ‘lesser person vs men’. Disturbing book, but very thought provoking. Very.”:-CalenderGirl
8.This Pulitzer prize winning book The Color Purple by Alice Walker documents the traumas and injustice faced by the African-American women.

Promising reviews: “The Color Purple introduced me to Celie, Nettie, Shuga, and Sofia—four women with four different personalities and four different experiences. The only thing in common was that these women had been victims of racism, sexism and abuse, albeit in different ways. It is true that the raw narrative of rape and violence in The Color Purple may not perturb the contemporary reader; we live in a world where we’ve seen far worse. But this book is about much more than that. If you read The Color Purple, you’ll find that it is full of infinite hope. You’ll learn that going through adversities doesn’t have to make you bitter or unkind. I was surprised to know that some literary stalwarts don’t appreciate this book because of its very simple language. This simple language conveyed the raw reality of life with more clarity than any Virginia Woolf-esque prose ever could. Read it with an open mind, and I promise that you’ll learn something.”:-Palak
